The Applications of LPG Gas

The Applications of LPG Gas

Liquefied petroleum gas is one of the most popular fuel products in the world right now. In the world of chemistry, it is more commonly known as propane or butane. It is an extremely flammable gas that is made out of a combination of different hydrocarbon gases. These gases are mainly used in a variety of different applications. They are most commonly used in heating appliances, vehicles and cooking equipment. However, most suppliers don’t just give away liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders. Instead, the gas is supplied differently to each industry. Here are the most common applications of LPG gas:

Industrial Gas

Liquefied petroleum gas is one of the most common industrial gases out there. It is used in a variety of different industries and is mainly used as an aerosol propellant. It is also a very potent refrigerant and is most popular used instead of CFCs in order to prevent the damage to the ozone layer. Given the fact that there are so many industries out there in which the use of potent refrigerants is a given, LPG gas is a great option. Most LPG gas suppliers usually sell industrial gas in weighted cylinders. The gas is also processed further depending upon which industry it is going to be used for.

Vehicle Fuel

LPG is used in a vast number of different vehicles. In many third world countries, LPG is one of the most affordable fuel products out there. Rather than go for conventional petrol or HOBC, most people prefer buying cars that are fitted with LPG engines. There are several companies out there that supply liquefied petroleum gas as liquid fuel. Because it is a cleaner burning gas as compared to compressed natural gas, one of the biggest advantages that LPG provides is that it is significantly more efficient.

It has significantly higher combustion efficiency. As a result, you get much better fuel consumption as compared to ordinary CNG or petrol powered vehicles. However, the market for LPG powered engines is very small. Most companies don’t sell LPG powered cars directly. If you want to convert your car on LPG, you will have to get it altered.

One important thing that you should keep in mind before getting your engine altered is that your warranty for the car will become void. Most people get their engines converted to CNG in order to save on their fuel costs. LPG might not be as cheap as CNG, but it does give you better fuel consumption. As a result, you will be able to save a significant amount of money on fuel just by driving your car on LPG, rather than CNG.

Houses and Commercial Spaces

LPG is one of the most common gases to be used in houses and commercial houses. It is not the same gas that comes through the pipeline in your home. However, since it provides much cleaner burning and is also a lot more efficient, there are many people who order separate cylinders and use them.
